Winnemucca, Nevada and arrival to Salt Lake City, Utah

Leaving Lake Tahoe was like a kid leaving camp.  This place just had that type of atmosphere.  We liked it there.  It felt homey.  Today is a travel day for us.  We are going to stop at Winnemucca, a small town half way between Reno and Salt Lake City.  We stopped at Wal Mart and bought some supplies.  We're staying at Hi Desert Rv Inn.  No KOA around here.  They let us wash the Chinook and we also did laundry.  Grilled out for the night and enjoyed the very large showers this campground had.
Tomorrow we're heading for Salt Lake City.  Long day of travel.
Sorry no pics for this day.
We left the Hi Desert Campground at 7:45 and headed for Salt Lake City.  We really did not have this place on our agenda except for spending the night to make our way to the Grand Tetons National Park, but upon arrival, we realized this city has many sights to see.
As soon as you leave Nevada and enter into Utah, you see the Salt Desert.  I've included pics.  The pics look like snow, but it is salt lying upon the surface of the land.  This is where the Bonneville Salt Flats are located.  Many Land Speed Records were made here.  Joey said, Take your sunglasses off Rhonda and look across the horizon.  When I did, I was blinded by the salt desert.  Unbelievable and something you have to see for yourself.
Then we got to Salt Lake City.  Beautiful City.  We are going to stay here through the weekend and leave on Monday.  Staying at the Salt Lake City KOA campground.  Have signed up for tours on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday will take a tour of the gold, copper mines and the city.  Sunday will go to church.  The Mormon Tabernacle Church.  Can't wait to hear the choir.  Will posts these events later.  Only have a few pics.
